Quality French Kingwood Bedside Tables c1930
These are incredibly elegant and amazing quality with lots of inlaid decoration, including a beautiful flower bowl on the tops
The "serpentine" shape—so named because it mimics the undulating, S-curve of a serpent—is one of the most sophisticated silhouettes in French cabinetry.
By c.1930, this style was often a "Louis XV Revival" piece. While Art Deco was the height of fashion in Paris, many French cabinet makers continued to produce these curvaceous, feminine designs for clients who preferred the classic "Chateau" look.
These have three drawers with decorative brass handles and even applications to the back legs as well as the front.
They show some signs of age with fading on the back of one especially and the normal knocks and scrapes of use. They have great patina and colour
